Upcoming Books

In the coming few months several Game of Thrones related books will be released.  No, not The Winds of Winter – but hopefully these will hold you over until the next sample chapter gets released.  So without further ado lets get started.

First on the list is your guide to speaking Dothraki.  Living Language Dothraki was developed by David J. Peterson, who created the Dothraki language spoken in Game of Thrones.  For only $15.47 (through Amazon at least) you’ll receive a 128-page language guide, as well as a one-hour audio CD featuring over 200 words and phrases, grammar explanations, cultural notes, a dialogue, and exercises for reinforcement.  Living Language Dothraki will be available October 7.

The second book on this list is one I have talked about several times, and that is The World of Ice and Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones.  For those of you who have read the series and had the feeling that the world George has created deserved a history book, well your wish has been granted.  This book will encompass histories of the Seven Kingdoms, and the cities of Essos, and so much more.  You can check out some of the pages from the books here, as well as this picture of the book itself.  The World of Ice and Fire will be available October 28, and you can pre-order it now from Amazon for $29.98.

The final book on this list may be a familiar one for some of you, and that is Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones: Season 3 & 4.  This is a must-have for any die-hard fan of Game Of Thrones.  In this book you will find “hundreds of unpublished set photos, visual effects art, and production and costume designs, plus insights from key actors and crew members that capture the best scripted and unscripted moments from Seasons 3 and 4.”  Not sold yet?  Below are two samples from the book detailing the efforts that went into creating both the dragons and the giants, from Westeros.org and WinterIsComing.  Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones: Season 3 & 4 will be available November 11, and can be pre-ordered on Amazon for only $25.30.
